My surgeon performed an exploratory laparotomy on a 16-day-old 600 gm infant. Found meconium within the lumen of the small bowel and the cecum "packed" with intraluminal material (contrast from upper GI). Also bleeding from liver and questionable torn Glisson's capsule. He injected Mucomyst in the mid small bowel and distal small bowel using a 27-guage needle, then milked the meconium through the bowel into the descending colon. Also used thrombin soaked Gelfoam and small squares on surface of liver to stop bleeding. Any suggestions other than 49000?
