I am working in GYN practice and this is specialty is new to me, but I believe the same principles of annual exams still applies when I was doing family medicine. Mediblue covers annual exams every two years like Medicare does. I have someone trying to tell me bill it one year like 99397 and the next with G0101....I don't think that is correct. Anyone have deep experience than my ten years with this?

What is their reasoning? G0101 is a cervical and vaginal cancer screening, pelvic and breast exam without time limits of the last exam. 99397 if a well patient visit for 65 years and older. What are the specifics for this case?
