It IS my understanding that Arkansas's Medicaid DOES accept consult codes still but they are denying any that I bill in an 'Observation/Outpatient status.
99241-99245. What would you code instead? I have also tried 99201-99205 in which they don't like either. Both codes send back a denial message:
"Procedure code to place of service"
I've made sure the hospital DOES show them in the Outpatient/Observation status and that we have keyed the charges in POS 2 -outpatient.
Why are they denying these? Not sure what to use instead? 99201-99205 AND 99241-99245 ARE on their fee schedule.
