Hoping someone could provide guidance on this. Recently our billing department built a rule in Epic to not allow modifier 59 on Medicaid claims. Per the billing manager, modifier 59 is no longer recognized by NY Medicaid. The X modifiers are also supposedly not allowed. Has anyone heard of this?
If this is true, that would mean two colonoscopy codes (like 45380 and 45385) would not be allowed together even if both are supported in the medical record...
