Hi, I am finishing up with my Medical Billing and Coding course. Does anyone have any information as to how to land a position in this field. Everyone that I had contacted are looking for experienced personnel. I am at a loss as to how I can gain experience if nobody is willing to hire me without it. Any information you can give me would be a big help. Thanks! Diane
 
You need to find an entry level, non coding HIM job, something in charge entry, billing, account follow up, etc. Get your foot in the door, gain experience and move up to a coding job. I started out as a receptionist, then charge entry and then coding. I am now a remote inpatient coder. I worked my way up, you can to.
