Wiki Medicare 855R denial

I know a mental health provider in MI that has recently enrolled in Medicare. However this is what they received back: "DENIED: 855R COMPANION DENIAL." I am not familiar with this and cannot find any good information on the web to help them. Thanks!

If the new provider joined an existing group, he/she would have to sign a reassignment of benefits form (855R) to the "group" before any payments can be made. Have the provider check all the paperwork submitted to Medicare. They should have done an 855I and the 855R.
It's possible that who ever completed the paperwork entered the wrong provider number(s) on the 855R
