I work with Mental health practice and facilities. One of my Medicaid only Residential SUD Facilities is now enrolled with Medicare Part B and would like to bill for IOP and PHP services. I cannot find in the Medicare manual that this is covered unless they are a CMHC. I have submitted a Medicare Part A application for a CMHC since they do not have the SAHMSA certification for OTP. They do not prescribe medication in their treatment. I see that there is a 40% rule and a cost report audit required for the enrollment. Can anyone provide some guidance on what Medicare needs on this document and if a billing company can write the letter or if it has to be from the accountant? Or if PHP and IOP can be billed by the group to Medicare Part B?
