I work for a breast surgeon and after doing a breast biopsy an ultrasound is done in our office so the physician can view the clip placement. Medicare is now denying the ultrasound, does anyone know why. The ultrasound is owned by our physician, so I do not need to add a 26 modifier.

These are bundled with the breast biopsy now. Since the new breast biopsy codes will include imaging guidance, as well as placement of one or more locatization devices and the imiaging of the specimen when performed.
