Sorry to beat a dead horse, but, dr sees patient in hospital inpatient setting, I want to bill as a subsequent visit, however, time spent and key components exceed the 99233. Am I allowed to bill the 99233 and a 99354-99356
( prolonged physcian services) that is appropriate for time spent and key components??????

Yes, if the documentation supports direct face-to face time with the patient. Note that the approximate time spent for a 99233 is typically 35 minutes. In order to add the 99356 (inpatient) prolonged service, at least 65 minutes must be documented. If total time is less than 65 minutes, then NO you can't bill the prolonged service code(s).
