Wiki Medicare Part A

I am new to the world of billing and have a question regarding part A. Does Part A cover specialists initial and subsequent visits while patient is in hospital? I have billed for one pt seen that has part A only and received a denial as services not covered-this doesn't make sense to me, can anyone shed any light on this for me?

Hi Tina,

Medicare part A covers only for inpatient services, which the hospital can bill. All the professional (physician) services are to be billed to Medicare Part B. I think the below site can be of help.
