We recently went to Meditech for our EMR. When the clinic docs order a test, there is an 'orders' tab generated on the hospital account that includes the provider name, patient name, test ordered and dx. However, it does not show the actual, signed order. For that, you must go to the clinic chart.
I have been downloading the actual orders and scanning them to the hospital visit. I have received mixed opinions on whether this is necessary.
My boss suggested I ask for help on a definitive answer... Can someone provide an answer, or describe how they have dealt with this issue, if Meditech is used in your facility? Thank you.
