Mental Behavioral Health Telemed/Audio
Our group currently has the following provider types, MD/DO, NP/PA, PHD/PSY, LMSW/SW, and we provide psych services to nursing facilities in 4 states, Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Ohio.

Since nursing homes are on lock down, we're brainstorming ways to still have visits with our patients however i have a couple questions,

1) Is there an AUDIO CPT (NOT video, phone only) that our PSYCHOLOGIST AND/OR SOCIAL WORKERS can bill during this time? Most homes are currently understaffed in this crisis and can not setup our video access with patients, however we've been consented to call patients direct but we don't know how to bill for this.
2) What is the 99358 frequency limit on patients?
3) any other tips are greatly appreciated
 
It depends on the insurance company you are billing. Most commercial and Medicaid plans are allowing Psychologists and social workers to bill for mental health sessions provided over the phone only using POS 02. However, some require modifier GT or 95.
