We are getting denied from medicare for merkel cell carcinoma's using the cpt codes in 11600-11646 series? Should I be using a different CPT CODE to code the merkel cell carcinom's?

what is the dx code you are using and exactly how are you billing the claim(what codes exactly and modifiers and dx codes) and what does the denial state?

cpt code we are using is 11606, dx code 209.35, no modifiers are being used. LCD says cannot use this dx code with this procedure. Hope this helps.
