We are a primary care office & we had a pt present with hand pain, was found to have a metacarpal fx, hand was too swollen to cast at the time so an OCL splint was applied & pt is returning for full casting.
For the initial visit I am inclined to code an E/M with Q4049 (finger splint, static) to cover the casting supplies and then code fx care (26600) when the pt returns for the full casting.
Is this correct? Thank you for your help!
