A primary OB sends a patient to a MFM for hypertension and the MFM physician codes a consult code for the first visit and continues to follow the patient with the primary OB. Well lets say 2 visits to MFM after the initial consult the ultra sound shows IURG and a heart defect, can the MFM code another consult code for the new problems since they will be consulting with the primary OB on the two new issues?
