A patient is being seen for OB Global at a group practice. The physician handles all the prenatal visits at the clinic, and the midwife delivers the baby at the hospital. How is the midwife reimbursed?
Also, how is the midwife reimbursed if the midwife sees the patient for a few prenatal visits at the clinic during a billed OB Global.

Does the clinic bill for 59400 under a single NPI and the clinic would figure out distribution? Thank you in advance for any answers.

It sounds like the physician and the midwife are employed by and part of the same group. The group bills for the global service. It's the same as if multiple physicians are part of the same group. Patients are typically delivered by whichever physician is on call that day.
Exactly how the employees are paid could vary greatly, depending on their employment arrangement. There are literally dozens of types of arrangements.

We bill globally under 1 tax ID and the Finance Dept allocates revenue behind the scenes per employment contracts.
