Question:
I know the surgeon does not bill for additional work caused by a mishap during surgery as they do not want to bill the patient for something they caused, however, should the facility be billing for these procedures?

"Generally a surgeon is doing a laminectomy/laminotomy and accidentally nicks the dura. The surgeon then has to repair the leak. I have been advised both ways that the facility does not have to bill the repair and that we should bill the repair. I know that the surgeon does not bill for the repair as they are the ones who nicked it."

I appreciate all thoughts and comments!
