Wiki Mod 62 questiion??

Hello: I am not sure if this situation requires a Mod 62 or if no Modifer is needed.

We had a surgeon who did a Fem/Pop Bypass Graft (35656) and due to the patients severe Aortic/Iliac occulstion another physician came in and did the intervention (stents). They are both in the same practice.

The patient was already in the operating rom, already prepped and draped. He ws moved to a fluoroscopy table and the reprepped.......etc

Any ideas :confused::confused:

If they both performed distinct parts of the same surgery, in other words, if they are both reporting the same procedure code(s), modifier 62 is appropriate. However, be prepared to show medical necessity for two surgeons.
