Wiki Modifier 22 on Scope to Open

Back in the day when I attended boot camps and seminars on coding, I remember being instructed on the usage of modifier 22 when a provider does scope to open. (I know to use the open cpt code) but there are some questions as to adding the 22 modifier. Can anyone please help? TIA
