Modifier 24 with asst surgeon

OB GYN doc performs a GYN surgery, assisted by a general surgeon. Asst surgeon follows patient in hospital post surgery during his normal rounds. Can the general/assistant surgeon bill for these rounds or does he need to use modifier 24?
