I need help with modifier 25. I work for a nephrology practice and we bill monthly dialysis services. The monthly dialysis codes now have been placed on the CCI edits. The CCI code pairs include monthly dialysis codes (90960,90961,90962,90963) and hospital inpatient codes (99221 - 99223, 99231 - 99233) We have heard that if we add modifier 25 to our hospital charges, Medicare will pay for the hosp visit and the monthly dialysis codes.
Does anyone have any experience with this? Is there another modifier that would be more appropriate? Thanks.
