Which modifier we could append for discontinued procedure for billing for1) the surgeon
2) the anesthetist?

Discontinued is the 53 modifier for physicians either surgeon or anesthesiologist. 52 is reduced procedure. The difference being with the 53, no surgical procedure was completeted, and the 52 is a procedure was accomplished but not all components were completed and there is no other procedure code for the portion that was completed.
 
so the guestion of -52 does not arise at all for anaethesiologist, his service is calculated on
Time, though.
