Wiki Modifier 54, 52 or none?

One of my doctors was called into the OR, ER doctor had done a lap appy and called her in for an ovarian cyst. she removed it, then the er doctor finished. would this be 54? 52? No modifier? Thanks-Wen

If ... Big RED IF
Your surgeon did not open or close, but merely removed the ovarian cyst, then YES, you should append a -52 modifier.
ALSO .. if your surgeon is NOT going to see the patient at all postoperatively, you should also append a -54 modifier.
