I've been in discussion with a colleague regarding the use of modifiers 73/74 Is anyone aware of documentation that restricts their use to only CPT codes billed under revenue code 360? The scenario is as fillows: A patient is brought into the minor OR (RC361), monitoring devices placed, a determination is made that based on the monitored information a medical workup is warranted and the procedure is cancelled prior the the administration of any anesthestic agent(s). Would it be appropriate to code the intended procedure with modifier 73? Supporting documentation either for or against this would be greatly appreciated. :confused:
