Wiki Modifier 78 or 79

I have been instructed to use these codes in the past, but recently I have been told that either of these 2 modifiers -78 or -79 are not applicable for anesthesia services since there is no global period for this service.

Does anyone happen to have any documentation supporting this or showing that they are applicable for anesthesia services??

Since they don't have global periods those modifiers are not appropriate on anesthesia codes.
