Modifier 78 Question - A patient is in the hospital

Fellow Members:

A patient is in the hospital and has a decompression fasciotomy of the leg; anterior and/or lateral (CPT code 27602) on June 24th. His 90 day global for this is until 8/23/2010. He is returned to the operating room on 6/9/2010 and has a dermal autograft of his leg done (CPT code 15130). I have billed this with a -78 modifier.
My question is, since the second procedure also carries a 90-day global period, does the clock start all over or is the initial procedure the global date that we are to continue to go by? I have had answers both ways and am putting it out there for some much needed advice please as I am unclear.
Thank you so much!
