Wiki Modifier 78 use when proc done in ICU room?

Hi!

A patient had CABG and Valve replacement then later that day in the ICU pt had bleeding. The chest and wires were removed in the ICU room. Blood clots were seen and irrigated and removed for over one hour.

Chest was packed.

I am questioning if it would be correct to use modifier 78 with the 35820 since procedure was done in ICU room not in OR..

Any thoughts:confused:
