All of our surgeries are done at a teaching hospital in Michigan. General Surgery Group.
1st Assist during most surgeries is usually 3rd or 4th year resident. I ordinarily do not use modifier 80. Normally I only use 82 when the surgery is done with another surgeon in our practice when a qualified resident is not available. How often do other surgeons/groups use 80 and what is the scenario? Just curious. Thanks for responding.
