I am trying to bill for surgeries with the modifer AS. I am trying to figure out if you can bill a Medicare patient for AS.:confused:

Are you talking about billing for the coinsurance after Medicare has processed the claim? Or billing the patient for the whole amount if Medicare doesn't pay? And if it is because Medicare didn't pay, what is the denial? Typically, Medicare does pay for assistant surgeons, if the code allows for the reimbursement for one.
