Could a modifier be used if pcp reaches out to 2 different specialist for consults for 1 patients on same day. Anyone have this answer
ex. pcp reached out to dermatology and intermal med. wants to bill 99452 for each consult. is there a modifier or would both request be joined under the one code

First of all don't use the word "consultation" unless all three requirements for a consultation have been met. Due to a 95% failure rate for three consecutive years CMS and now many private insurance companies don't pay for consultation codes now. If a consultation is actually performed, the consulting physician will bill the consultation, not the requesting provider.
