If the physician is not a "teaching physician" would you still use the modifier GC on claims where the student intern has scribed documentation for the physician?

If the resident's only contribution to the encounter/service was to scribe for the MD/DO, and states in the documentation that they are acting as scribe, the GC modifier is not appropriate. However, if the resident performs any portion of the service and the MD/DO is the attending physician and attests to his/her face to face with the patient the GC modifier is applied.
