I am aware of the implementation of JW modifier to report waste on any part B injectables that are eligible for reimbursement. I am having issues with HCPS code A9502 used during a myocardial perfusion study. The instructions for billing this code is "per study dose" . How do you properly report waste in this case? the vials used are 10 Mci , First study dose (resting) used was 11.0 mCi and the stress dose used was 33.0 mCi
The total used for this patient would be 4 full vials of 10 mCi plus 4 mCis off of the 5th vial. How would you report that waste of 6 mCi? since the code is "per study dose".
Help is greatly appreciated!
