Is a Professional Component modifier applicable for when billing CPT Code 50590 at POS 11?
Example - 50590 with a 26 Modifier.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

50590 does not have a professional/technical split, so you would not use a 26 modifier in any setting.

If performed in POS 11, the non-facility column on the Medicare physician fee schedule would be the applicable rate.

If we as a provider want to indicate at POS 11 that we are truly only billing for professional component, could we add the 26 modifier? Would that be an issue?

How else could we indicate that we are billing for professional only at POS 11?

Thank you.
