We would like your opinion on a question we have been going back & forth on the answer: A pt undergoes repair of a deviated nasal septum (30630) which was unsuccessful. Three months later the pt undergoes the same procedure by a different surgeon. What modifier if any would you use & why?

If the second surgery falls outside the global surgical period, I would add modifier -77 to the second surgery. This modifier is for a repeat procedure by another physician to indicate that the procedure was a repeat.
