I have a doctor that saw a patient in his office . He is charging a 99204-25, 69200 and a 92504. The foreign body could not be removed due to patient moving too much. So then he went to the surgery center and put the child under anesthesia to remove the foreign body and he used 69205. My question is can he charge both 69200-53 and 69205 since this was done on the same day? My thought is he can only charge the 69205. Any help would be great.

You can bill for both because one approach was attempted unsuccessfully.

I would be prepared to send a copy of the office and surgery center notes to show that the procedure was attempted and carried out with anesthesia with the claim.
