Wiki Modifier QY and QS

Hi,

I have received denial stating that the claim was billed with incompatible modifiers QY (directing 1 CRNA) and QS (Mac procedure done alone).Is there any guidelines that state a doctor cannot supervise a single crna, when he is providing monitored anesthesia care. Please provide your valuable feedback.

Which carrier provided the denial? What type of procedure was being performed?

Insurance was BCBS and the procedure performed was Colonoscopy. Diagnosis includes screening.
