My surgeon was covering for a patient of another surgeon and my surgeon performed surgery on the pt. the surgeon that he was covering for also did two surgerys one on 1-15 and one on 1-17 and my surgeon did his on 1-18. do i need to put a modifier on my surgeon claim since is it considered global?

I would try a -77 if the procedure your doc did was a repeat procedure or a -78 if it was an unplanned return to the OR/procedure room for a related procedure.
That's what I have to do when we cover for another surgical practice here in town.
