We are having issues with modifiers on 97140. We used 59 and GP; then we were told to use GP and XE. Now, our claims are being denied as incorrect modifiers or not a separately identifiable service and is to be considered part of the primary procedure. This service is being performed by a licensed massage therapist, not the doctor. What are the modifiers we should be using?
