If a physician A performs a Mohs on a patient then refers the patient to physician B for repair and closure, can physician B charge for a new patient visit prior to the closure being scheduled. My question is if there is an open wound from the Mohs, would the decision for repair be made prior to the scheduled office visit with physician B, or would you still get to bill for the decision made for the repair at the time of new visit visit with a 57 modifier?
