I need some help. I have a report that starts out:

Patient initially had an unenhanced examination on 3/10 and returned on 3/12 for an enhanced examination for further evaluation of a lesion seen in the spinal cord.

Both of the reports were dictated as one. How does anyone feel that this should be billed?

are you on the facility side (technical) ? are you using the terms enhanced referring to scans without and then with contrast ? What was ordered ? (If you are billing on the technical side.... We would bill for both IF we had an order for MR without contrast and then an order for MRI with contrast. Two reports would need to be dictated in this case for appropraite documentation.

Thank-you. We do both the technical and the professional portions in a outpatient medical clinic. That is exactly what I thought. I had someone who was arguing with me over that.
