Hi - I have a provider who held 2 90846 sessions in 1 day (1 for parents of patient, and another for county appointed custodian). How do we indicate these were unique visits in order to get these claims paid? Thanks!
 
Most likely they will not be paid. Next time, the provider needs to schedule them on different days. Also, make sure this is really family psychotherapy, and not therapy in which the child is the main focus. Family sessions are when all individuals in the room are benefitting from therapy; otherwise, it's individual. You have to look at the focus of the therapy.
