MVA and Medical Insurance

I work for an internal medicince Doctor that saw a patient for follow up from a MVA and he also so the patient for another problem that they were having on the same day. The physician wants to bill the Auto Insuruance for the follow up from the MVA and he also wants to bill the health insurance for the other problem that he was having. I am not sure if the physican is able to bill both Insurance companies.
 
This is often done when this senario exisits... BUT to do this the physician must have two separate notes that each stand on its own and does not duplicate the elements of the other.
