Hello,
I work in a primary care office and we have a DO that performed muscle energy and myofascial release on a patient. I have never billed for these services before but I see that we can bill 97140 for the myofascial release. I don't know anything about billing this code and am not sure where to find the rules for billing it. Can someone help me on what is required for billing this code? Thanks!

97140 falls under the "Physical Therapy" group of codes. Look for Medicare LCD's and private payers medical policies regarding the proper use.

I'm having the hardest time figuring out what's required for billing this code. I'm confused now as to whether I should be billing 98925 (OMT) or 97140 (myofascial release). I've tried searching on CMS, but it keeps coming up as zero search results. If my doctor in her note put somatic dysfunction of the cervical and thoracic spine and documented that myofascial release and muscle energy was done in the office, which one am I supposed to bill?
