My provider does in-office balloon sinuplasty (31298, 31295), ethmoidectomy (31254) septoplasty (30520) and submucous resection (30140).
Patient follows up for 2-3 debridements (CPT 31237)
The 4th follow up visit is usually a nasal scope (CPT 31231, Dx J32.2 ethmoids).
The scope on the 4th follow up visit is being denied (PFUD - procedure follow-up day).
We've billed the scope with a 79 modifier because the septo (30520) has a 90 day global and we also tried billing it w/o a modifier because the sinus procedure have 0 global days.
Does anyone have some input or getting the same denial on the scope after sinus surgery?
