i am new to pediatric coding and have a question about coding the nebulizer treatment and the spirometry together... i just started codiing for a new company and they code the 94640 nebulizer treatment witht he 94010/59 spirometry test. is it correct to put the 59 on the spirometry or is it included in the 94640?? thanks any information on this is helpful!!

If a spirometry is done with a nebulizer treatment we do bill it. I don't see anywhere (CPT or CCI book) that it is bundled... I do not use a -59....It seems to me these procedures are distinctly different without a modifier saying so. The breathing treatment delivers the medication, and the spirometry measures the level of breath.
