Hello,
It used to be that three vitals (Blood pressure, weight, height) had to be checked during a visit in order to meet billing documentation needs. It is my understanding we no longer need to do that correct? We have a doctor that doesn't want BP checked at every visit, unless necessary. (We do at annuals, OB visits, preops) He doesn't want us doing it for a patient coming in just for a specific issue, example, UTI, or depo every 3 months.. pelvic pain. We can still bill based on time or medical decision making even without BP correct? Ty!!

Correct. The history and physical are documented as the provider deems appropriate for the complaint and the deciding factor is now total time or medical decision making.
