I have the diagnosis as HIV Encephalitis, does anybody know what dx code I should use?
Please respond ASAP. Thanks in advance.
 
HIV Encephalitis

I would code the HIV as primary 042, then the encephalitis as the secondary. Is the encephalitis cause by the HIV? If not then I would code the encephalitis as primary and the HIV as secondary. Good Luck!
