Wiki Need help ICD9 for fracture dislocation (shoulder)??

Surgeon performed a Shoulder Hemiarthroplasty after patient suffered a "four-part fracture dislocation"of proximal humerus. I'm seeing diagnoses for dislocations and fractures individually but nothing indicating a dislocated fracture??
Anyone have any insight for me?

If you go to the alphabetic index in your ICD book and look up dislocation with fracture, you are instructed to "see fracture, by site". So, you would only code the fracture.

would you code the 23470 or a fracture cpt?

If he did a hemiarthroplasty then that's what I would code.
