Hi To All,
Does anyone knows any replacement code for 76140 in billing for Medicare,
76140 --Consultation on x-ray examination made elsewhere, written report to Medicare.
MC is not considering this as a valid CPT any longer since it is a "consultation"
what code could we use then??:confused:

I'm not sure if MC = Medicare, but Medicare has not paid for this code in the past.

Medicare does not pay for an overread on an x-ray as it is not considered medically necessary. This would be included in the E/M service if applicable.
