Happy Friday!!!
I noticed my doctor is coding for same day encounter
1. Asthma unspecified (493.90)
2. Cough variant asthma (493.82)
How can it be asthma unspecified and cough variant asthma in the same encounter. Should it be one or the other, but not unspecified then the second code you identified what it is…
Is this correct coding?
I am confused please help!
 
Thank you, that's what I thought, but the doctor insisted that was the right thing do.
